On this incredible Myanmar Photo Adventure, we’ll travel around the heartland of Myanmar. The adventure begins in Yangon and we’ll visit Inle Lake, Mandalay, Bagan, and lastly the white sand beaches of Ngapali.
We’ll take a variety of transportation including a train, planes, busses, and hired cars. We’ll stay in some of the coolest (and nicest) accommodations available.

Whether we’re jumping trains in Yangon, catching a hot air balloon ride over magical Old Bagan, or exploring white sand beaches, this adventure will keep you smiling for days.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Yangon, Myanmar
Mingalaba (hello)! You’ll arrive at Yangon International Airport (RGN) to begin your adventure. A driver will be waiting for you to help you with your luggage and welcome you to Myanmar! You’ll be whisked away to your hotel to relax, swim, and mingle with the other guests. We’ll have a welcome reception and dinner.

Day 2: Yangon, Myanmar
Explore Yangon via train (circular train route) and witness (and photograph) the vibrant and interesting city life of Myanmar’s largest city. We’ll visit the local markets and pay a visit to Myanmar’s largest and most famous temple, Shwedagon Pagoda. We’ll make our way to Botahtaung Jetty to catch the sunset and have a delicious meal at one of Yangon’s popular eateries. After we’ll head back to our hotel and prepare for our early morning departure.

Day 3: Inle Lake, Myanmar
After breakfast we’ll catch our morning flight to Inle Lake. Once we arrive we’ll head to our boutique lakside resorte to relax, catch a massage, hit the hot springs, and soak up the scenery and vibe of the village of Nyaung Shwe. After our traditional Burmese dinner, we will have drinks, recap the day and unwind with some traditional local entertainment.

Day 4: Inle Lake, Myanmar
We’ll wake early to catch the morning light and explore Inle Lake by boat at sunrise. We’ll stop on the water to photograph the famous local one legged fisherman of Inle and take a trip to the Jumping Cat Monastery and floating villages. In the late afternoon we’ll head to the airport to catch our flight to Myanmar’s 2nd largest city – Mandalay. Upon arrival we’ll check into our hotel and explore Mandalay over a city cruise with dinner and cocktails.

Day 5: Mandalay, Myanmar
We’ll wake up early to get ready for our full day luxury Irrawaddy River cruise from Mandalay to Old Bagan. A scenic cruise we’ll snack and mingle and relax as we soak up the sights, sounds, and stunning vistas as we make our was South to one of my most favorite (and photogenic) stops on the trip – Old Bagan. It’ll be a long day on the river so once we arrive we will be transported to our boutique hotel where you can rest up or explore the area before our delicious dinner.

Day 6: Old Bagan, Myanmar
We’ll rise with the sun and head out on our electric bicycles to explore the ancient temples of Old Bagan. We’ll be with a local guide who will show us hidden jewels and vantage points of this UNESCO World Heritage Site most traveller’s never see. There are over 3,800 temples and pagodas in this area! Truly a jaw dropping location to photograph. We’ll have a local style lunch and relax back at our hotel for some pool time in the afternoon. A delicious and special dinner is arranged for the evening. Drinks and local entertainment for those interested.

Day 7: Old Bagan, Myanmar
We will rise early again to see the beautiful landscape of Old Bagan, however, this time we’ll be doing our viewing and photography by air. By air? Yes! Today you get to ride in a hot air balloon as we gently float over the ancient ruins at sunrise. This is the stuff dreams are made of. After, we’ll have a delightful breakfast and head back out on our super fun electric bikes for a special photography adventure with local villagers. We’ll cap our adventurous day with a delightful dinner and drinks.

Day 8: Ngapali, Myanmar
After breakfast we’ll hop on a plane for a short flight to the white sand beaches of Ngapali. Once we arrive we’ll be transported to our ocean villas for check in. In the afternoon we’ll take a Kayak trip on the Thandwe River to explore more of the area and see local flora and fauna. After, we’ll retreat to our beach side resort for some sunny beach time. Dinner and drinks at the resort.

Day 9: Ngapali, Myanmar
Today we get to sleep in a bit and enjoy the cool ocean breeze. After breakfast we’ll go on a snorkeling adventure to view the local reef systems. After, we’ll retreat to our beach side resort for more some sunny beach time. For those interested we will also be visiting a local non profit. Later we’ll return to the resort for our farewell dinner and drinks.

Day 10: Yangon, Myanmar
After our last beachside breakfast, we’ll jump on a plane for the short flight back to Yangon. From there you can simply catch your outward bound flight home. For those interested in exploring Yangon some more, we’ll have some fun day trips planned.

I want to reiterate that this adventure is not just for amateur photographers and enthusiasts who own a lot of photography gear. There’s an old saying and I’m not sure of the origin however it rings true to for this amazing Myanmar Photo Adventure –
“The best camera is the one you have with you.”
One can take excellent photos with today’s mobile devices IF one knows what they’re doing. Photography fundamentals such as lighting and composition apply no matter what camera or cell phone a person is using.
I promise you that your photography skills will improve and you’ll come away with amazing photos no matter what camera you decide to bring. That said, if you have gear bring it.
